Foodstuffs in Animal Feeds Consultative Committee

VIDO (Vereniging Voedingsmiddelen in Diervoeder Overleg - Foodstuffs in Animal Feeds Consultative Committee) is the Dutch sector association for companies that process by-products from the food industry to produce high-quality animal feeds. Such by-products result from the manufacture of products including bread, pastries, biscuits, chocolate, crisps and sweets.
The members of VIDO specialise in collecting, transporting and processing both packaged and unpackaged by-products.

All member companies are GMP+ certified and work in accordance with a unique unpacking protocol, which was developed through member cooperation and which guarantees that packaging materials are disposed of correctly. An independent certifying body audits the protocol.

The processing of by-products from the food industry to produce animal feeds helps to tackle food waste, and the reuse of these valuable ingredients is also a sustainable and socially responsible business practice.
